How to Choose an Air Purifier
Based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s air purifier guidance, here are three things to check before choosing a model.
Measure Your Room
Multiply your room's length by its width to get the area (sq ft), then compare it with the maximum recommended area shown on the product.
Check the CADR
CADR is the amount of clean air delivered per minute. To reduce small particles, make sure the "smoke" CADR is sufficient for your room size.
Look at Filter Types
Particles are handled by high-efficiency filters like HEPA; odors and gases by gas-removal filters like activated carbon.
Filters & Certifications: What to Know
What Makes a HEPA Filter
As defined by the U.S. Department of Energy, a HEPA filter theoretically captures at least 99.97% of 0.3-micron particles. 0.3 microns is the hardest size to capture — larger and smaller particles are filtered even more efficiently.
Coway air purifier filter configurations vary by model — we'll walk you through them during your consultation.

Which model fits my home size?
Tell us your room size and space type (bedroom, living room, open area) and we'll recommend the right model. As a rule of thumb, look for a CADR of about 65 or more per 100 sq ft.
How are the filters maintained?
Depending on the model, choose technician-visit maintenance or self-maintenance where you replace filters yourself. We'll confirm each model's options during your consultation.
Are there standards for air purifiers sold in California?
Yes. Portable indoor air purifiers sold in California must be CARB certified, and electronic models must meet the 0.050 ppm or less ozone emission standard.
Are there any rental promotions?
